On the North Island of New Zealand, in the Bay of Plenty region, sits the seaside city of Tauranga. With 158,300 urban residents (as of June 2022), it is the seventh most populated city in New Zealand. On the southern end of Tauranga Harbour, in the northwest corner of the Bay of Plenty, is where the city is located. Tauranga is a well-liked tourist resort, renowned for its lovely beaches, pleasant climate, and laid-back way of life. The city is also the location of some significant historical and cultural landmarks, such as Mount Maunganui, The Elms, and Mission Cemetery. The word "Tauranga" means "place of rest or anchorage" in the Mori language. This is a perfect name for a city that offers a lot of things to see and do as well as a calm and serene environment in which to unwind.
